Get Ready for Something Better

Media Release - Monday May 22
Better Than Ready was the standout horse in all pre-race enclosures and was the Randwick record breaking high class sprinter that wowed the crowds - Now, get ready for a new Champion Sire to emerge!.

His first crop of weanlings are about to make a big splash at the National Weanling Sales this Thursday and Friday with 14 youngsters to be offered.

Better Than Ready is stamping his stockThey are superb athletes like their sire, extremely correct with lovely temperaments, strong constitutions and above all great looking, precocious types.

Having served in excess of 260 mares in his first two seasons Better Than Ready has the forthcoming numbers to make his mark on the sires tables.

He has demonstrated exceptional fertility and has been an easy foaling sire for all mares including maidens. They quickly get up and going and become gorgeous foals in no time.

He is known to put more leg on foals from smaller mares and is very dominant on colour and type. They are mainly brown with similar markings and shape to their sire, grand sire and great grandsire.

The Halo sire line is a distinct type and none more obvious than the striking Better Than Ready progeny.

In fact his foals are generally the best foals their dams have ever produced. Better Than Ready's dam line is littered with 2yo performers. His foals are huge eaters and full of confidence just like their dad.

Standout nicks include mares by Exceed and Excel, Testa Rossa, Canny Lad, Northern Meteor, Commands, Hussonet, Fusaichi Pegasus, Snitzel and other Danehill and Danzig sire lines.

These lines are also proven with More Than Ready himself and his champion sire son Sebring. The Halo line is also noted to nick with the Sadlers Wells and Mr Prospector sire lines. That makes Better Than Ready an obvious choice for the majority of Australian broodmares, who are already saturated with Danehill and Danzig blood.

Those who book mares to Better Than Ready for the 2017 season will reap the benefits of 120 or more athletes from his first crop and similar numbers from his second crop.

They will be lighting up racetracks from 2018 onwards and no doubt be boosting the yearling prices for his foals from this year's mating's.

Weanlings can be inspected this week at the Magic Millions Sales and at Yarramalong Park or Lyndhurst where Better Than Ready stands.
