Another Stakes-Winner for Sepoy?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 20
Sepoy sired his first Australian stakes-winner last Saturday when Alizee powered home to win the Group II ATC Tea Rose Stakes and may not have to wait long for his second with promising Regimen staking her claim for future Black Type success with a stylish win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

A Darley homebred prepared by James Cummings, Regimen raced up on the pace and kicked on to the line to beat older mares and win the Benchmark 73 event over 1200 metres by half a neck.

SepoyWith three wins and a second from four starts, Regimen is clearly a filly on the up as we progress through the spring.

"She's a beautiful filly, but can be a bit feisty," revealed James Cummings.

"We had to float her to the races today rather than just walked her across from the stables as if we had done that she would have arrived in a muck lather.

"We had her in the Tea Rose, but she would never have beaten Alizee so we came here instead."

Regimen will have her turn at Black Type with Cumming indicating the Listed ATC Reginald Allen Stakes on October 14 might be a suitable goal.

Regimen is the best of four winners from Anabaa (USA) mare Disciplined, who comes from the family of Group I winners Excellerator and Artistic.

The sire of 12 winners since the start of the season, Sepoy stands at Darley at a fee of $16,500
