New G3 Winner for Brazen Beau

Promising Brazen Beau filly Vadream has been threatening to win a Black Type race all year and got the job done at Ascot overnight when saluting in the Group III Bengough Stakes (6f).

Trained by Charlie Fellowes, Vadream  has had a busy season contesting six Group race in a row leading into this assignment including finishing sixth in the Group I Newmarket Thousand Guineas.

Well ridden by David Egan, Vadream settled midfield early and found the line well to win by a length, her second win from eight starts with three other Group placings.

“Vadream has always been a good filly and has been a bit unlucky this year. She's run in some proper races and hit the post a few times. This has been the plan for a long time and we felt it was a real chance for her to win a Group race,” said Charlie Fellowes.

Vadream is a half-sister to stakes-placed Mirage Hero and is the second winner from Her Honour, a half-sister by Shamardal to quality stayer Big Duke, a multiple Group winner and Group I placed in Australia.



The family also features Group I Epsom Derby winner Harzand and current Irish Derby and St Leger winner Hurricane Lane.

Vadream is the 15th stakes-winner for I Am Invincible’s Group I winning son Brazen Beau, who stands at Darley Victoria at a fee of $49,500.
