Prime Winner Brings Pedigree Update

Tara Madgwick - Monday November 29

Joe O’Neill’s Prime Thoroughbreds colours were in the winner’s circle at Kyneton on Monday when Winning Rupert filly Seonee broke the ice bringing a timely pedigree update for her half-brother to be offered at 2022 Inglis Classic.

Trained by Patrick Payne, Seonee was slow to begin when finishing second at Pakenham when resuming from a spell and was sent off as favourite for the 1450m maiden.

She jumped on terms this time and travelled just behind the leaders before forging clear to win by a length.

“The penny hasn’t quite dropped yet, so she’s just raw ability and will keep getting better as she progresses,” said winning rider Damien Thornton.

An $80,000 Magic Millions Book 2 purchase for Prime Thoroughbreds from the Yarraman Park draft, Seonee is the first winner for Mowgli, a placed half-sister by Not a Single Doubt to Champion HK Sprinter and four time Group I winner Beat the Clock.

Yarraman Park will offer a half-brother by Hellbent to Seonee at Inglis Classic as Lot 98.
