Kingstar 2YO’s Up and Running

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Wednesday December 8

The star inside the crown brand of Kingstar Farm is rapidly gaining recognition as a symbol to respect at yearling sale time with last season’s Champion 2YO Stay Inside putting this boutique Hunter Valley stud well and truly on the map and a new crop of juveniles poised to make their mark.

California Deeply was bred by Kingstar Farm.

The Kingstar brand was carried to victory at Warwick Farm on Wednesday by exciting two year-old Deep Field colt California Deeply, whose debut victory has trainers Peter and Paul Snowden plotting a path towards the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in January. Read about him here.

The $400,000 ATC Inglis Nursery (1000m) this Saturday at Randwick features a big field of 15 and two of the runners were bred and sold by Kingstar Farm.

Newcastle trainer Nathan Doyle has done a great job with speedy colt Lord of the Hunter, who was second on debut at Muswellbrook and then finished a close up fourth in the $130,000 Max Lees Classic.

Lord of the Hunter as a yearling.

A $40,000 Inglis Classic purchase for his trainer, Lord of the Hunter has race experience and fitness on his side with the addition of blinkers and champion jockey Kerrin McEvoy sure to enhance his prospects.

The first runner for Kingstar Farm’s young stallion Lord of the Sky, Lord of the Hunter is the first foal of Sebring winner She Brings, whose yearling colt by Bull Point will be offered by Kingstar Farm at Magic Millions as Lot 980.

The other Kingstar Farm graduate is the Edward Cummings trained Capitalist filly Paved with Gold, who impressed at her only trial finishing second and comes into this race on debut with Rachel King to ride and a cosy barrier in gate five.

A $40,000 Inglis Classic purchase for her trainer, Paved with Gold is the second foal and first runner for stakes-winning God’s Own mare Brook Road, a half-sister to stakes-winner Nepean.

Kingstar Farm will offer a full sister to Paved with Gold at Magic Millions as Lot 826, so a good showing on Saturday from the daughter of Capitalist will be a massive plus for her sibling.

Kingstar Farm will offer a draft of 12 at Magic Millions, click to see the full draft.
