A record breaking Magic Millions Book 1 made for some spectacular pinhook success stories so let’s take a look at some of the best.

The most successful pinhook by profit was Kulani Park’s Lonhro colt from Group I placed Redoute’s Choice mare Reemah that sold to Ciaron Maher Bloodstock / Debra Bourne for $625,000.

As a weanling.

Bred by Shadwell and offered on their behalf by Yarraman Park in their Magic Millions run dispersal last year, the colt was bought by Rhys and Chloe Smith for $165,000.

They have a great record for success at pinhooking and not just in buying profitable yearlings, but also really good racehorses with current stakes-winning three year-old Giannis a case in point. The Flying Artie three year-old trialled well at Rosehill on Monday morning and looks set for a good autumn campaign.

 

Willow Park Stud had the next best result with the Menari colt from Fadetta (USA) that made $350,000 when bought by Bahen Bloodstock.

As a weanling.

He was sourced from the Inglis Digital June (early) Online Sale for $22,500 and the ad for him features the priceless comment…  is a good Pin Hooking Prospect!

Vinery Stud had a win with their Trapeze Artist colt from Viviette (IRE) that made $650,000 when bought by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock.

As a weanling.

He was sourced from the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale for $330,000 from the Three Bridges Thoroughbreds draft.

Newgate Farm had an amazing sale and featured in the pinhook list with this Written Tycoon filly from Bel Selene that made $625,000 when bought by Ciaron Maher Bloodstock/Group 1 Bloodstock.

As a weanling.

She was bought by Jim Carey for $350,000 from the Woodside Park draft at Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

Lime Country Thoroughbreds had an incredible result with a filly from the second crop of Aquis Farm’s Spieth that made $325,000 to the bid of Ciaron Maher Bloodstock. A half-sister to Group III winner Highlad from Group I placed stakes-winner My Lady’s Chamber she is now the highest priced yearling for her young sire, who covered 124 mares last spring at a fee of $8,800.

As a weanling.

She was bought from the Willow Park draft at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale by William Johnson Bloodstock/Brian McGuire for $60,000.
