Promising Win for Treporti

Tara Madgwick - Friday January 21

Gelding might be the making of I Am Invincible three year-old Treporti, who scored a powerful win at Flemington on Friday bringing a timely pedigree update for his three-quarter sister to be offered at Inglis Classic next month.

Never further back than fourth in his first six starts, all in good company, the Danny O’Brien trained Treporti was beginning to look like a non-winner until being gelded.

In four starts since then, he’s won twice and looked to be getting a taste for it when cruising clear under Jye McNeil to win the Benchmark 64 event over 1200m by a length and a half running away.

A $600,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Bruce Perry Bloodstock Ltd (BAFNZ), Treporti runs for a syndicate that includes Waikato Stud and Rosemont Stud, but as a gelding he won’t be standing at either of those farms now!

Treporti was a $600,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Treporti is a half-brother to European Group III winner Match Maker and US Group III winner More than Love and is the fourth winner from Group III placed import I’m in Love (USA), a daughter of Zafonic.

Yarraman Park will offer the current yearling from I’m in Love, a filly by I Am Invincible’s Group I winning son Hellbent at Inglis Classic as Lot 623.

I’m in Love was sticking with the Invincible Spirit sireline for her next foal, producing a filly last spring by his dual Group I winning son Magna Grecia (IRE).
