Stay With These Girls

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 25

Arrowfield Stud’s Miss Finland was a champion on the racetrack and has been a superstar at stud producing 2015 Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Stay With Me, whose first two foals are about to make their presence felt on the racetrack.

Later this afternoon her second foal, two year-old I Am Invincible filly Waltz on By will line up in the Group III MRC Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield.

Retained to race by Arrowfield and partners, the Peter Moody trained filly was placed at her first trial on January 11 and has drawn gate eight for her debut.

The first foal from Stay With Me is a three year-old filly by Deep Impact that has been given to the Lindsay Park training team of Ben and JD Hayes to prepare.

Always on My Mind was fourth in a Tatura trial on January 13 and then was asked to do a bit more in a 1200m trial at Geelong on Tuesday closing strongly late for Mark Zahra to finish second beaten a head.

On this latest effort she looks ready to go to the races and longer distances would appear to be where she is heading.

Turning 10 this year, Stay With Me has not missed a beat at stud and the daughter of Street Cry (IRE) has a yearling filly and weanling colt by Dundeel to follow her first two fillies.

Interestingly, Stay With Me went back to I Am Invincible last spring which may be a good indication Waltz on By is expected to be well above average!
