Second Win for Gavelhouse Graduate Zanahary

Media Release - Friday August 10

The ultimate gear change appears to have worked the oracle for gavelhouse graduate Zanahary   having posted his second win in a row on Wednesday.

ZanaharySouth Australian trainer Chris Bieg took the advice of jockey Paul Gatt after Zanahary first run for the stable "After his first start Paul Gatt told us and owners that the horse would benefit from being gelded and the gear change is now showing great results!"

The full-brother to Group winner Lord Of The Sky was bred and trained by trainer Robbie Laing, before selling online in May for $20,000. He has now returned his purchase price to his new connections that thanks to a positive ride at Gawler over 1512m, winning with 2.5 lengths in hand.

Justin Huxtable, Bieg's apprentice jockey, rode him on Wednesday and commented post-race "I love riding this tough horse, he gets out in front and is a lovely free striding horse with good cruising speed."

"The slower you try and hold him the less he lets down so last start when we let him roll along he let down a lot better."

"He's a beautiful horse to do anything with, everyone back at the stable loves him and enjoys riding him."

Chris Bieg Racingfinished the racingyear of the 2017/2018 season off with 20 winners, 22 seconds and 18 thirds, including a Listed winner and bagged over half a million dollars in prize-money for their connections, including winning the Murray Bridge Gold Cup for the third time.

Thrilled with Zanahary, Beig commented about the son of Danerich "He's pulled up very well and is a lovely horse to train,"

"He's a pleasure to have in the stable and we were rapt to secure him through gavelhouse.com."

"Most of the owners in him are new to my stable and for many of them this is their first horse."

"We may look to step him up in distance and target a metro race next start and with a low rating he will hopefully get alow weight."
