Invincible Stars at Randwick Trials

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 13
Lightly raced I Am Invincible mare Invincible Star has officially thrown her hat in the ring for an Everest slot after another scintillating trial win at Randwick on Monday morning.

Invincible Star - Grant CourtneyPrepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Invincible Star was in a league of her own winning the second heat of the morning, finishing the best part of 10 lengths clear of quality Zoustar colt Zousain in her 850metre heat. They completed the course in 48.99 seconds.

Monday's demolition job followed a similarly impressive performance in an 800m trial at Warwick Farm last month when the Group I-placed mare and another noted speedster, Super Too, left the likes of Pierata, D'Argento and Alizee their wake.

Invincible Star has had only five starts, but has shown real brilliance in her brief career with her last start a head second to Royal Ascot conqueror Merchant Navy in the Group I VRC Coomore Stud Stakes.

Waterhouse and Bott have made no secret of their desire to gain a start in the Everest with Invincible Star and there are three vacant slots left for the $13 million feature on October 13

Invincible Star will run first up in the Group III ATC Concorde Stakes (1000m) on September 1.

The next trial featured several stakes-winning juveniles from last season headed by undefeated Group I winner The Autumn Sun.

Champion trainer Chris Waller was not asking much of The Autumn Sun, who cruised around back in the field in second gear, but the winner Neutrality is an up and comer showing some real talent.

Expensive Sebring colt Neutrality is ready to make his mark this springHe was fourth in the Group II ATC Silver Slipper at his second start before spelling and this was his second trial back indicating Neutrality is really ready to return to action.

Prepared by Peter and Paul Snowden, Neutrality led all the way and looked fit and sharp in winning his 850 metre heat by two and a half lengths in 49.39.

A $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft for China Horse Club/ Newgate Farm / WinStar Farm, Neutrality is a half-brother to stakes-winner Nocturnelle from Group III winner Dama de Noche. He is the sixth winner for the daughter of Snippets, who is also the grand-dam of Group III winner Dracarys.
