Group Wins for Consistent Fillies

Media Release - Tuesday April 16

Lack of match-practise wasn't a factor when Rushing Fall scored a multi-dimensional victory in the Jenny Wiley Stakes Group 1 at Keeneland on Saturday.

More Than ReadyThe 4yo More Than Ready filly hadn't been seen since winning the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Gr.1 at Keeneland in October. She had earlier earned black-type at the Lexington track in the 2018 Appalachian Stakes Gr.2 and 2017 Jessamine Stakes Gr.3.

Rushing Fall is unbeaten at Keeneland and her record of four black-type wins is second only to Wise Dan (7) at the Lexington circuit. She was sent straight to the lead and turned that into daylight advantage at the end of 1700m in the Jenny Wiley.

"To come out after a long break in a Grade 1 and being tested by really good horses was phenomenal," said Five Racing Thoroughbreds owner Bob Edwards. "She's reminiscent of those classic horses that could change their game as they get older and being more mature and being able to change their running style.

"She's multi-dimensional. I love to see that, kind of like Ghostzapper. Not to say she's in that league at this point, but she definitely loves the turf course here."

Rushing Fall is one of 22 Group 1 winners by Vinery legend More Than Ready. She is a half-sister to Street Sense stakes winner Miram and agent Mike Ryan bought her on behalf of Edwards for $320,000 at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale.

Mossman selected centre-stage to weigh in with a stakes winner earlier on Saturday at Randwick. His class mare White Moss added a Group 2 as part of the Winx undercard in the Sapphire Stakes.

White Moss is one of 39 stakes winners for Vinery retiree Mossman (Success Express). A homebred for Tartan Fields, she is trained by Jason Coyle and had won the Millie Fox Stakes Gr.2 at Rosehill in February with a winning record stretching back to The Nivison Gr.3 at Randwick in October 2017.

"Full credit to Jason and Tartan Fields for finding this race for her," jockey Kathy O'Hara said. "She is a natural free-roller and I just wanted a genuine gallop. She's had two Group 2 victories and isn't far off the top grade."

Tartan Fields also owns her stakes winning half-sister White Sage (Reset) and she has a yearling colt by More Than Ready. Owned by the Espin family at Kulnura, Tartan Fields sold a Contributer (Ire) half-sister to Melbourne stakes winner Office Bearer (Lot 289) to Gerald Ryan for $100,000 at the Inglis Easter Sale.
