Better Than Ready Hits 20

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 16
We thought last season we were seeing something exceptional when bargain priced sire Spirit of Boom churned out 18 Australian first crop winners, but lightning has struck twice with another modestly priced Queenslander in Better than Ready equalling and surpassing his figures.

Better Than ReadyLyndhurst Stud's Better Than Ready quietly moved to 20 first crop winners on Saturday when Better Than Gold scored a three length win at Kilcoy.

A fast Listed winner by More than Ready (USA) that won eight of 16 starts, Better Than Ready has exceeded all expectations to date and has a deserved fee increase this spring jumping from $9,900 to $33,000.

His 20 winners come from just 40 starters and include three stakes-winners The Odyssey, Better Reflection and Jagged Edge, while his 30 individual wins from those winners is the best of all stallions.
