New Stakes-Winner for Dream Ahead

Tara Madgwick - Friday September 1
Aquis Farm shuttler Dream Ahead (USA) has been in hot form during the month of August adding yet another new stakes-winner to his tally with a victory in the Listed Abergwaun Stakes at Tipperary in Ireland overnight for promising filly Gorane.

Dream AheadPrepared by Henry De Bromhead, three year-old Gorane was hampered at the start, but recovered to take up the lead and kicked on strongly in the soft ground to win the five furlong sprint by half a length.

"Gorane got a great ride from Declan (McDonogh) and she's probably still a bit green. When she gets into a rhythm she has a great stride on her. I was keen to try her on this ground. She has an entry in the Flying Five so we'll see," said Henry De Bromhead.

With two wins and a second from six starts, Gorane is the best of four winners from Holy Norma, an unraced half-sister to Group II winner Preachinatthebar and stakes-winner Royal Revival from stakes-winner Holy Nola.

Gorane is the 12th stakes-winner worldwide for Dream Ahead, who was the leading Australian Second Crop Sire last season by stakes-winners with four to his credit in Dreams Aplenty, Generalissimo, Awaken and Ken's Dream.

Interestingly, three of those stakes-winners are from daughters of Redoute's Choice, so Dream Ahead has proven himself as an outstanding outcross sire that really works!

Dream Ahead stands this spring at Aquis Farm in the Hunter Valley at a fee of $19,800.
