A thoroughbred nursery for a century, Yarraman Park Stud has been owned and operated by the Mitchell family for over 50 years. Both Arthur and Harry Mitchell are hands on all year round and are both highly experienced horsemen who bring a lifetime of international and local experience to the stud along with vast worldwide contracts. Yarraman Park consists of approximately 1500 hectares of mineral rich, undulating country with many thousands of trees and a perfect mix of improved and natural pastures. The farm is not over populated and has a large number of big paddocks, which are constantly rotated and rejuvenated. The Hunter Valley is famed for its limestone and Yarraman Park prides itself on raising strong, sound racehorses. Yarraman Park is 9 kms from Scone in the heart of Hunter Valley – perfect proximity to all the major stallion farms.

Five Winner Saturday for Hellbent
He might play second fiddle to his champion sire I Am Invincible at Yarraman Park, but Hellbent has started this new season on a mission and with five winners on Saturday is now sharing the lead at the top of the Australian Sires List by winners.
Yarraman Park’s Hellbent has shot to fame with a couple of outstanding Group I winning mares in Magic Time and Benedetta and a filly by the son of I Am Invincible was an eye-catching winner at Newcastle on Thursday.
Hellbent Fillies Quinella at Canterbury
The two and three year-old fillies maiden at Canterbury on Wednesday delivered a quinella for Hellbent with three year-old filly Red Hot Lizzie leading all the way to win, while two year-old Bauhinia was an eye catcher with a storming run from last into second placing.
Yarraman Park’s Hellbent has had an outstanding season and it’s not done yet with his two year-old colt Warparty thrashing the opposition to win by five and a half lengths at Seymour on Monday.
As stallions progress through their stud careers we learn more and more about them and a close look at the third season sires table is well worth consideration given the top 10 sires are all standing in either Australia or New Zealand this spring, albeit some not at the farms where they started.
