Stars Aplenty in Rosemont Exclusive Sale

For any horse to win 11 of 22 starts is some achievement. When five of those wins are registered in Group One races across four countries it’s quite literally incredible.

That’s what the amazing racehorse Starcraft achieved before he was retired to stud where he’s making yet more headlines.

Starcraft In Australia, Starcraft won a Chipping Norton Stakes and Australian Derby at Randwick. In New Zealand at his next start he won the Mudgway Partsworld Stakes at Hastings.

Not to be outdone with his exploits across Australasia, Starcraft’s visionary owner Paul Makin decided to campaign his winning machine in Europe.

In France he won the Group One Prix du Moulin de Longchamp in track record time over a mile before three weeks later beating Dubawi in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Newmarket.

The accolades included being crowned the Champion 3YO of Australia, Champion Older Sprinter in New Zealand and the Champion Older Male Mile in both France and Great Britain.

At stud Starcraft has proven to be a great success, the Rosemont Stud resident has sired over 330 winners – 20 of them successful at stakes level.

His star performers have included Group One winners Star Witness and We Can Say It Now and fellow group winners Hallowell Belle, Property, Crafty Irna, Blizzard, Lunar Rise, Winner’s Way, Conte, Havana, Do You Think and Starcheeka.

The next stakes winner for Starcraft could come in the shape of one of his five weanlings catalogued in next week’s Rosemont Exclusive Online Sale.

Lot 2 is a filly from a city performed half sister to Mirror Mirror, Lot 4 is a filly from Hot Girl Wanted, who was fourth in the listed Cinderella Stakes at two, Lot 15 is a half brother to the winners and city performers Big Call and One More Cast, Lot 18 is a colt from the stakes placed Sean Baile Mor and thus a half brother to Connery and Lot 23 is a colt from an unraced three quarter sister to Queensland Derby winner and subsequent Hong Kong star Eagle Way.

Also catalogued in the sale are four mares in foal to Starcraft – Lot 64, 72, 87 and 93 – they’re all worth a look at the unreserved online event.
