Zoustar Winner for Stonestreet Stables

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday July 21

The famed colours of US based Stonestreet Stables were in the winner’s circle at Wyong on Tuesday with promising two year-old Zoustar filly Yangarra Rose.

Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden, who achieved Group I success for Stonestreet with former star sprinting mare Miracles of Life, Yangarra Rose made amends for an encouraging debut second two weeks ago.

She settled off the pace and found the line strongly for Andrew Adkins to snatch a short neck win in the 1000 m juvenile maiden.

A $460,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Canning Downs draft for Stonestreet Stables, Yangarra Rose is the first foal of Group III winning Written Tycoon mare Vibrant Rouge.

Yangarra Rose as a yearling

Vibrant Rouge has not had a foal since Yangarra Rose, but appears to be in foal to The Autumn Sun.

Zoustar is closing in on 100 winners for the season and his progeny have won nearly $11million and include seven stakes-winners.

Zoustar stands at Widden Stud at a fee of $121,000.
