How Did This Name Get Through?

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 4

In the politically correct world we now live in where Coon Cheese is to be renamed and Redskins are no more, how is that a horse called The Fat White is allowed to race - are we not worried that fat white people – and there are millions of them in Australia– will be offended?

Something tells me that if this horse was called The Fat Black, it would never have been approved and if that’s the case, why can white people be fat and OK and black people not.

There’s my thought for the day!

Now an owner or trainer is bound to come out of the woodwork here with a valid reason for what on face value looks just a dreadful name (maybe it’s a coffee?  A creamier version of a Flat White!), but as we have seen with so many other things, facts and history matter not, it’s all about appearances.

So come on fat white people, get offended!
