First Winner for Frosted - Inject Ices Them on Debut

Mark Smith - Sunday August 16

One of North America’s most popular racehorses of recent years, Frosted (USA), was represented by his first winner on Saturday when the two-year-old filly Inject stormed to a six lengths win at her career debut in a five-furlong maiden at Ellis Park.

Ridden by Julien Leparoux for trainer Stanley Hough, Inject sat on the pace set by Quick Munny before taking command at the top of the straight. She stopped the clock at :57.67.

A $390,000 graduate of the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Inject is a three-quarter-sister to the 2017 Grade 1 Belmont Stakes winner Tapwrit (Tapit) and a half-sister to the 2018 Grade II Del Mar Derby winner Ride a Comet (Candy Ride) out of the Successful Appeal mare Appealing Zophie who won the 2006 Grade 1Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga.
