Kia Ora Stud Secure Prague

Tara Madgwick - Thursday August 27

A three-quarter brother to dual Group I winner Stratum Star, last season’s dual Group III winning colt Prague will run for Kia Ora Stud when he resumes from a spell next month.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained son of Redoute’s Choice raced previously for Aquis and Phoenix Thoroughbreds, who now share in the ownership of Golden Slipper winner Farnan with Kia Ora.

Prague won the G3 Canonbury and Pago Pago Stakes last season.

“This is a project that we’ve taken on and we want the right horses. Farnan had his second trial (on Tuesday) and he looks to have come back in very good shape and we’re very excited about his first start (in the Run To The Rose) and it’s the same with Prague,” Kia Ora Stud’s bloodstock and breeding manager Shane Wright told ANZ Bloodstock News.

“Prague has a very nice family behind him, he was a good two-yearold and his three-year-old career is just getting started. “Being by Redoute’s, who is one of the best sires of sires that Australia has ever seen, and for us being back in the stallion game … it was one of the last chances to get into that line.”
