Talented three year-old filly See You Soon has been retired following her failure to load into the barriers at the Rosehill trials on Monday morning.
A homebred for Woodpark Stud, the Northern Hemisphere conceived daughter of champion French sire Siyouni showed tremendous ability in her brief career of just five starts.
A juvenile winner on debut last October and subsequently placed in the $1million Golden Gift and Group II ATC Reisling Stakes and Percy Sykes Stakes, See You Soon was aiming towards the Princess Series, but was scratched at the barrier in the Group II ATC Silver Shadow Stakes when resuming from a spell.
"It is frustrating because she didn't get to deliver what she could," her trainer Jean Dubois told Racenet.
"She had some bad luck in a Group II and was second in a Golden Gift.
"She had the ability to go a bit further and win some good races but you have to bounce back and find another one.
"It was an easy decision to retire her when she didn't want to (race). We don't want her to hurt herself because you never know, she could slip over and hurt herself.
"She is too valuable as a broodmare and we don't want to take any risks. If she doesn't want to go in, you never know what can happen."
See You Soon will be a valuable broodmare as she has a big international pedigree being a half-sister to stakes-winner The Blue Eye from French Group III winner Soneva.
She comes from the family of New Zealand Group I winners Anabandan and King’s Rose, who is at stud in Japan where she has produced recent Group III winner Satono Arthur.
