Barrier Draw and Sale Mail for Golden Rose

The $1million ATC Golden Rose (1400m) this Saturday is the first Group I race of the season for three year-olds and eight colts and one gelding have accepted for a race that is seen as a passport to a stud career.

Race favourite Rothfire has drawn 8, dual Group I winner King’s Legend in 9, while key up and comers Ole Kirk and North Pacific have drawn 3 and 6 – click to see the full field.

The only runner not bought as a yearling at auction is the favourite Rothfire, with the remaining runners ranging in prize from $1.4million for King’s Legend down to $160,000 for Yardstick.

Six of the eight colts bought as yearlings came from Magic Millions with North Pacific and Oke Kirk sourced from Inglis Premier where they were the two highest priced horses sold at that sale.
