Newgate Farm and Partners Purchase Majority Share in Extreme Choice

Media Release - Tuesday March 15
After one of the highest rated Blue Diamond victories on record, Newgate Farm purchased a majority interest in the highly gifted juvenile Extreme Choice, in conjunction with Aquis Farm, the China Horse Club, Matthew Sandblom and family, and SF Bloodstock.

Extreme Choice - Grant CourtneyThe Blue Diamond winner will race in the red and yellow colours of the China Horse Club for the first time Saturday.

The purchase of a major share in the undefeated colt ensures that, in time, he will join Newgate Farm's elite stallion roster where he will be given his chance to build on the reputation of the Blue Diamond Stakes which has highlighted the careers of a number of sires including his own grand-sire Champion Redoute's Choice.

"As I said after the Blue Diamond, it is just a privilege to be involved in a two-year-old as talented as Extreme Choice," said Henry Field, Managing Director of Newgate Farm.

"Win, lose or draw in the Golden Slipper, Extreme Choice will go down being rated as one of the fastest juveniles we've seen in the past few years. We very much look forward to sharing the remainder of his racing career with all the original owners who will retain their respective racing interests."

"Aquis Farm's investment in the exciting Golden Slipper favourite, Extreme Choice, is part of the farm's continued growing but measured investment in the Australian thoroughbred breeding industry. It is however merely a precursor to some exciting planned future initiatives," said Aquis Farm Chairman Tony Fung.

"We have great faith in Henry Field and Newgate Farm, and we look forward to seeing Extreme Choice join the Newgate Stallion roster in due course."

China Horse Club Chairman Mr. Teo Ah Khing said of the acquisition, "We are
extremely excited to join the ownership of the Group 1 winning colt, Extreme Choice. We look forward to furthering our relationship with Newgate Farm, the original and fellow new owners in the rest of his racing career, beginning in the Golden Slipper carrying China Horse Club colours. His win in the Blue Diamond was nothing short of devastating and gained much attention in an expanding Chinese racing population."

The Mick Price trained son of Not a Single Doubt has arrived in Sydney in preparation for this weekend's Group 1 Longines Golden Slipper.
