First Foal for Cox Plate Hero Adelaide

Coolmore's history making Cox Plate winner Adelaide (IRE) has his first foals arriving this spring including this stunning colt from a full sister to a Group I winner.



Foaled at Lustre Lodge is this gorgeous bay colt from Fastnet Rock mare Tropicana Lady, a full sister to Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Irish Lights.

A dominant winner of Australia's greatest weight-for-age race, Adelaide was trained by Aidan O'Brien and showed real toughness and resilience in posting Group I victories in both the US and Australia during 2014 when he also competed successfully in France, the UK and Ireland.

With four wins and four placings from just nine starts, Adelaide retired lightly raced with his reputation confirmed at the highest level.

A son of legendary sire Galileo, Adelaide covered 98 mares at Coolmore last spring and is priced this year at $16,500.
