Tara Madgwick - Friday January 15

The second last lot of the session, he was knocked down to Spendthrift Australia, who have had their own success with Written Tycoon in the shape of Group II winning sprinter Dirty Work.

A half-brother to two winners the colt is the fourth foal of Taqaseem, a placed half-sister by Medaglia D’Oro (USA) to Group I winner Sense of Occasion from the Asawir branch of the Easy Date family.

Bred by Shadwell, Taqaseem was bought by Emirates Park from the 2016 Inglis Broodmare Sale for $210,000. She had no foal last year, but was covered by Pride of Dubai.

The colt is the first seven figure result at this sale for Written Tycoon, who moved from Woodside Park in Victoria to Arrowfield Stud last year and covered 195 mares in his new location .
