Three year-old Helmet gelding Eqtiraan scored a neck win in the six furlong
Listed Cathedral Stakes at Salisbury for the Richard Hannon stable.Stakes placed twice previously, Eqtiraan has been very consistent and has the overall record of two wins and four placings from seven starts.
From unraced Cape Cross mare Miranda Frost, Eqtiraan is the sixth stakes-winner for Helmet, who stands at Darley Victoria this spring at a fee of $16,500.
Sepoy added a classic winner to his resume when quality UK trained three year-old Unforgetable Filly travelled to Dusseldorf to win the Group II German One Thousand Guineas on Sunday.
Trained by Hugo Palmer and ridden by James Doyle, Unforgetable Filly was supplemented for the race at the start of last week and justified the outlay by connections when running out an easy winner.
She came with a sweeping move down the outside to win the one mile contest going
away by a length and three-quarters lengths. This was her second stakes victory
after winning the Listed Maggie Dickson Stakes at Musselburgh at the start of
June.Unforgetable Filly is the best of four winners from Oasis sDream mare Beautiful Filly, who comes from the family of Group I winner and sire Stravinsky.
Unforgetable Filly is the best of five stakes-winners sired by Sepoy, all of them coming in Europe.
The Golden Slipper winner has also sired 34 Australian winners this season putting him fourth on the leading season sires list by winners and stands at Darley NSW at a fee of $16,500.
