Shadwell Dispersal of Weanlings Generates $5,435,000

The highly anticipated dispersal of Shadwell Stud bred weanlings at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale on Thursday delivered on the hype with 20 youngsters selling for $5,435,000.

Perfectly prepared and presented by Yarraman Park the consignment averaged $271,750 with a colt by Zoustar from stakes- winning Shamardal (USA) mare Bulbula the top seller fetching $700,000 to the bid of Rosemont Stud/ Justin Bahen Bloodstock.

The colt is a half-brother to Group III winning juvenile Aryaaf and his yearling half-brother by Snitzel was sold at Inglis Easter this year for $1.2million to Rosemont Victorian Alliance / Suman Hedge Bloodstock (FBAA) / David Redvers Bloodstock.

Bulbula will be offered in the Broodmare Sale as Lot 829 and is in foal to Aryaaf’s sire Epaulette.

The highest priced filly in the draft sold for $600,000 and is by I Am Invincible from South African Group II winner Ektifaa.

She was bought by Mitchell Bloodstock and her dam Ektifaa will also be offered in the mare sale as Lot 831 and is in foal to I Am Invincible.
