Royal Ascot Possible for Starspangled 2YO

Tara Madgwick - Saturday May 22

Rosemont Stud will stand Starspangledbanner at a fee of $16,500 this spring, the champion son of Choisir featuring overnight in Ireland with his progressive two year-old Castle Star winning the Group III Marble Hill Stakes (6f).

Second at his first two starts, the Fozzy Stack trained colt won a Listed race at his last start and upped the ante again here to make it two stakes wins in a row.

Castle Star surged to the line to win by two lengths in a dominant performance.

“Castle Star is improving and bouncing after his races, he's straightforward and has a great constitution. The Coventry is a possible, we will rule nothing out,” said Fozzy Stack.

Castle Star was retained to race by his breeders and is the best of three winners from Awohaam, a half-sister by Iffraaj to Group III winner Moment in Time from Group III winner Horatia.

Castle Star is one of 18 stakes-winners for Starspangledbanner.

Starspangledbanner stands at a fee of $16,500.
