New Stakes-Winner for Nicconi

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 5

Bob and Sandra Peters have bid farewell in recent weeks to two of their Group I superstar mares in Arcadia Queen and Celebrity Queen, both sold at broodmare sales for a combined total of $5.7million, but there are always more stakes-winning fillies emerging from their breeding operation and we saw a new one on Saturday in Graceful Girl.

Trained by Grant and Alana Williams, three year-old filly Graceful Girl has never missed a place in seven starts and put the icing on the cake today with a dominant length and a half win as a short priced favourite in the Listed WATC Raconteur Stakes (1400m) at Belmont.

A homebred for Bob and Sandra Peters, Graceful Girl has won over $224,000 in prizemoney and is a full sister to Group III winner State Solicitor and half-sister to Group II winner Respondent.

She is the third stakes-winner among nine winners from top producing Group II winner Avenida Madero, who sadly died in 2020.

Her last foal is a yearling filly by Nicconi that has already been named Regal Statue.

Nicconi is the sire of Graceful Girl

Graceful Girl is the 23rd stakes-winner for Nicconi, who moves to Widden Stud Victoria this spring at a fee of $27,500.
