The Last of the Deep Impacts and Plenty of Australian Interest at the JRHA Sale

The 2021 Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale runs over two days, July 12-13, with 248 Yearlings and 241 foals catalogued, with the first lot through the ring, one of four yearlings from the final crop of the breed-shaper Deep Impact (JPN).

The catalogued highlights the investment Japanese breeders have made in sourcing some of the best bloodlines worldwide.

The first foal of Golden Slipper and Moir Stakes winner She Will Reign (Manhattan Rain), a yearling by Heart’s Cry (JPN), is to be offered by Northern Farm (lot 19).

The VRC Oaks heroine Set Square (Reset) has a yearling colt from the first crop of Deep Impact’s dual Group 1 winning son Satono Diamond (lot 40).

A brother to Group III winner and Group 1 Hopeful Stakes runner-up Admire Justa, and half-brother to Caulfield Cup winner Admire Rakti (JPN) by Just A Way (lot 51).

Fastnet Rock’s Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes and Magic Millions 2yo Classic winning daughter Driefontein has a yearling colt by Heart’s Cry on offer (lot 102).

Northern Farm consigns a yearling Just Away colt out of the Group 1 AJC Australian Oaks heroine Absolutely (Redoute’s Choice) (lot 193).

Rouge Coeur (Redoute’s Choice), a sister to Edward Manifold stakes winner El Daana (the dam of Kewney Stakes winner Wawail) has a filly by Rulership (lot 238).

In the foal session, Mosheen’s daughter Calico (Deep Impact) has a filly by Maurice (JPN) (lot 331).

Northern Farm consigns the second foal of dual Group 1 winner and Golden Slipper runner-up Yankee Rose (All American) a colt by Lord Kanaloa (lot 398).

The champion Lonhro has a colt foal out of the stakes-placed Munnings mare a Gala Day (lot 417).

Gienah (Redoute’s Choice), a sister to stakes-placed Zarzali, out of a half-sister to European Horse of The Year Zarkava, has a filly from the first crop of Japan Cup winner Grand Cheval (lot 522).
