So You Think She’s Promising

Tara Madgwick - Saturday June 19

Red hot sire So You Think missed a stakes-winner this Saturday with handy stayer So You Win going down narrowly in the Listed Ipswich Cup, but he did have a promising winner on the same program in undefeated filly Palaisipan.

Trained by Chris Munce, Palaisipan made a winning debut at Ipswich back in April and has won each of her three runs since.

She raced on the pace for Craig Williams in the open three year-old event over 1350m and was tenacious in scoring a short half head win to take her earnings past $100,000 in prizemoney.

Bred by Gooree Stud, Palaisipan was part of their reduction sale at Magic Millions National Sale last year with Chris Munce picking up the unraced two year-old filly for $40,000.

Palaisipan was bought as an unraced 2YO for $40,000.

Palaisipan is the first and only foal of her dam Touch of Red, who died in 2018.

An unraced daughter of Fastnet Rock, Touch of Red was a three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group II winner and sire Smart Missile from the family of Group I winner and influential sire Northern Meteor.

So You Think also had a good winner at Rosehill where lightly raced five year-old Catanzaro posted his third win in a row when taking out the Highway event over 1200m for the Ken Parsons stable.
