I Am Invincible's Jazz Etude Makes it Three from Four in Japan

The three-year-old I Am Invincible filly Jazz Etude must be on the verge of being tested in Group company after she made short work of her elders in the $346,000 KTB Hai (1200m) at Hakodate on Sunday.

Carrying the flyweight of 50kgs under Toshiki Akiyama, the Yoichi Kuroiwa-trained filly skipped over the turf in 1:08.6 to defeat Galilei (Victoire Pisa) by two lengths with Satono Giverny (Siyouni)a further neck back in third.

It was the third win in four starts for the daughter of I Am invincible. A winner over 1600m at Nakayama at her only start at two, Jazz Etude opened her three-year-old season with a sixth over 1200m 9on the same track.

She was back on track with a strong front-running display over 1200m at Sapporo on June 19.

Jazz Etude was bred by Morning Rise Stud and consigned by Coolmore Stud to the 2020 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, where Katsumi Yoshida had the last say at $650,000.

Jazz Etude a $650,000 Magic Millions Yearling

A half-sister to stakes-placed Splendoronthegrass, Jazz Etude is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Mumbai Rock a $1,550,000 purchase at the 2013 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Coolmore (as agent for Morning Rise Stud) consigned a sister to Jazz Etude to the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in January, where she bought $575,000 to the bid of by Annabel Neasham Racing/Brian McGuire.

Mumbai Rock has a weanling filly by Zoustar and was covered by the Widden Stud-based stallion last spring.
