Who Am I?

Sponsored Content - by Tara Madgwick - Monday July 5

I’ve sired a Group I winner in five of the past six seasons, I’ve got a 70% winner to runner career strike rate, I’ve sired 10 individual million dollar earners and I’m a Top 10 stallion this season for winners- so who am I?

Magnus stands at Widden Stud Victoria at a fee of $15,400.

I am Magnus, who may well be Victoria’s best value sire this spring standing at Widden Stud Victoria at a fee of $15,400.

A superbly bred son of Flying Spur from the family of champions Black Caviar, All Too Hard and Ole Kirk, Magnus keeps delivering the goods for his supporters with no guesswork required.

In 2020/2021, Magnus has been having his usual great season with 118 winners of $6.8million highlighted by his dual Group I winner Streets of Avalon and Group II winner Kemalpasa, not to mention five winners from seven runners in Hong Kong.

Dual G1 winner Streets of Avalon is one of 10 individual million dollar earners sired by Magnus.

In the sale ring this year, his yearlings sold for up to $320,000 and averaged $161,429 at Inglis Premier, while his outstanding Group II winning broodmare daughter Enbihaar was sold for $825,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale as part of the Shadwell Dispersal.

As a broodmare sire, Magnus is showing great potential and is already sire of the dam of 26 winners including two stakes-winners highlighted by multiple Group I placed and Group II winning mare Mizzy, sold at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $2.2million.

Importantly, the momentum is still running with Magnus, who has covered over 400 mares in the past three seasons indicating the high regard in which he is held.

For breeders seeking a proven speed stallion with elite bloodlines at an affordable price, it’s tough to go past Magnus.
