Mark Smith - Monday July 12

Expectations were high for the four yearlings from the final crop of the legendry Deep Impact at the yearling session of the JRHA Select Sale conducted at Northern Horse Park on Monday, with the opening lot setting the tone.

If Deep Impact needed any further boost to his worldwide appeal, he received it recently when Snowfall put her opponents to the sword by upwards of 16-lengths in the Oaks at Epsom.

From the consignment of Northern Farm, lot 1, the Deep Impact colt out of Go Maggie Go (USA), was bought by Hasegawa Yuji for ¥300m ($3,647,000)

A daughter of Ghostzapper, Go Maggie Go won the Grade II Gulfstream Park Oaks and Grade II Black-Eyed Susan Stakes in the USA.
