Flemington and HK Success for ShamExpress

Media Release - Monday July 19

Impressive ShamExpress 3YO Seiners Express posted a quality performance in the VRC Ken Cox Handicap at Flemington on the weekend to notch back-to-back wins at Melbourne’s premier racetrack.

Though carrying 3 ½ kg’s more in weight and travelling 100m further than in his Flemington success two weeks previously, Seiners Express again unleashed his trademark finishing burst to swamp his rivals in the final stages of the race.

The progressive son of ShamExpress was bred by Paul & Tiffany Murray of P & T Equine Ltd in association with Windsor Park Stud and was a $90,000 purchase by Ciaron Maher Racing from the 2019 Book 1 Karaka Yearling Sales draft of Windsor Park Stud.

ShamExpress also enjoyed an end-of-season double in Hong Kong this week where his sons Green Envy and Shanghai Power were both successful for their sire.

Green Envy has thrived during a busy campaign through the season, winning three times, including twice in his past three starts and on both occasions breaking 1.22 for the 1400m journey.

ShamExpress has enjoyed an outstanding season siring 44 individual winners throughout Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia including stakes horses Coventina Bay, Rangi Toa and London Express.

ShamExpress stands at Windsor Park Stud where his 2021 service fee has been confirmed at $6,000 + GST.
