Golden Rose Stakes early betting picture

Clinton Payne - Tuesday September 19

The majority of bookmakers remain cautious with the favourite Menari after the Gerald Ryan colt drew out in Saturday's $1 million Group I Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

Bookmakers have updated their markets after the barrier draw was conducted for the Golden Rose Stakes on Saturday.

Menari will start from barrier 11 in the 14 horse field but only Bet365 of the seven surveyed bookmakers is offering better than $2.

The second favourite is Peter and Paul Snowden's colt Pariah ahead of Victorian raider Merchant Navy and the Group II Stan Fox Stakes winner Gold Standard.

Two fillies, Formality and Champagne Cuddles, will run in the set weights contest and they are priced at $21 or better.
