Goodwood Winner for Highland Reel

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 7

Swettenham Stud shuttler Highland Reel (IRE) had a stylish winner overnight with two year-old colt Inverness charging home to win at Goodwood.

Having his second start, the Charlie Hills trained Inverness let down with a big finish to beat The Queen’s blueblood Deep Impact colt Educator  by a neck in the 1m maiden.

We've always liked Iverness, who ran a lovely race first time. He's a horse who will go 1m4f next year and he's a lovely action - he's very light on his feet - so fast ground suits. We'll see how he is and speak to his owner Steven Rocco and his partners about plans,” said Charlie Hills.

Purchased for 110,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Charlie Gordon Watson, Inverness is the third winner from Four Eleven, a wining half-sister by Arch to Group III winner Summertime Legacy.

This is the family of dual Group I winner Earthlight (IRE), who is standing in Australia for Darley this spring.

Inverness is the fifth winner for Galileo’s  champion son Highland Reel, who stands at a fee of
$16,500 and has his first Australian two year-olds running this season.
