Inglis Banner Draws Full Field – Sale Mail

Tara Madgwick - Thursday October 21

The $400,000 Inglis Banner for two year-olds at Moonee Valley on Saturday has drawn a full field plus emergencies with last year’s winner Sneaky Five seeking to keep her unbeaten record alive at Moonee Valley tonight in the Group I MVRC Manikato Stakes.

Sneaky Five was a dominant winner last year in a big field of 15 and then travelled to Sydney to win the $1million ATC Golden Gift.

She returned to win the Group III MRC Thoroughbreds Club Stakes at Caulfield on October 9 and has drawn ideally in gate five for tonight’s assignment.

Sneaky Five is trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, who won the Manikato in 2019 with another three year-old filly in Loving Gaby so are well aware of what sort of filly can measure up to the older sprinters.

The Inglis Banner this year has drawn a fantastic field with several runners by first season sires engaged – Sioux Me (Russian Revolution), Tattenham (Hellbent) and Red Rapid (Merchant Navy).

$2.1million Inglis Easter sale-topper Nobel (Exceed and Excel) is only a fourth emergency so may not get a run, but if he does, the Annabel Neasham trained colt has shown ability at his only Sydney trial and has James McDonald booked to ride.
