Epaulette Colt Fastest at Final Inglis Breeze Up Session

Media Release - Friday October 22

All is in readiness for Tuesday’s Inglis Ready2Race Sale following a successful final breeze up session at Warwick Farm this morning.

This morning’s fastest gallop of the 16 to breeze was lot 155, an Epaulette x Dilemmas colt of Blake Ryan Racing, who clocked 10.61secs.

Ryan also had the third-fastest breeze of the morning – a Hallowed Crown x Star Of Minerva colt (lot 84) – which ran 10.63secs, while Will Forrester’s Supido x Tale Of Fun filly (lot 92) split the pair at 10.62secs.

“He’s a good style of colt, he’s breezed well obviously, he’s settled in well, the stallion is going well so he’s definitely one for the buyers to take note of,’’ Ryan said of the Epaulette colt, pictured.

“And the Hallowed Crown, he’s done really well since he’s been gelded, he’s super sensible and does everything right, he looks well and has just done so well through the preparation and Hallowed Crown is doing good things, he’s got Relentless who is a horse I sold here 2 years ago that is a good horse in Singapore, as well as Colette in Australia.

“Overall I couldn’t be happier with the draft, they’ve all done terrifically since they breezed a few weeks back and I can’t wait to show them all off to buyers at Riverside the next few days and into Tuesday.’’

On the Supido filly that breezed in 10.62 this morning, Forrester said: “We chose this later breeze for her so she could really furnish and get stronger and it all went to plan, to run the time she did and the way she travelled, I really think she’s a filly with a lot of upside.

“She’s the sort of horse you want in your stable, everything about her, her temperament, the way she moves, it’s all going in the right direction for her, she’s definitely one of my top picks of our draft.’’

Vision of all this morning’s breeze ups will be available for viewing on the Inglis website later today.

There have also been several 2YOs in the sale that have already had barrier trials and jump outs, including the Written Tycoon x Racy colt (lot 50) who was an impressive trial winner at Taupo recently and the Street Boss x Novel Idea colt (lot 37) who caught the eye in a Pakenham jump out.

The Inglis Ready2Race Sale continues to assert itself as the most progressive 2YO auction in the country.

On Saturday, Gunstock (Tavistock) became the fourth Australian Stakes winner to graduate from the 2020 renewal of the sale alone, joining G2 winners Forgot You and Lightsaber and Stakes-winning 2YO See You In Spring.

Forgot You ($3.50) and Gunstock ($4) are the two favourites for next Saturday’s G1 Victoria Derby at Flemington.

Both are amongst 84 individual winners and 11 black type horses to have emerged from the past two editions of the sale, along with the likes of Allibor, Malkovich and Starlight.
