New Winner for Blue Hen

Tara Madgwick - Thursday November 25

Gerry Harvey’s Baramul Stud paid $1.6million for blue hen Lipari at the 2019 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale and she produced her fourth winner from five runners at Wyong on Thursday.

Four year-old More Than Ready (USA) mare Too Much Lippy has been given plenty of time to mature and was having just her second start in the 1350m maiden at Wyong on Thursday following a debut second back in March at Goulburn.

Trained by Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou, she travelled on the pace and kicked clear to win by a length and a half as favourite.

Too Much Lippy was a $550,000 Magic Millions purchase.

A $550,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Twin Hills Stud draft for Strawberry Hill Stud, Too Much Lippy is a half-sister to Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Levendi and Group III winners Wu Gok and Marcel from Madrid.

A stakes-placed Redoute’s Choice mare from Group I winner Tully Thunder, Lipari has a two year-old colt by I am Invincible that sold for $600,000 at Magic Millions this year to Paul Moroney Bloodstock/Michael Moroney.

Lipari has another colt by I Am Invincible to follow and was covered again by the champion sire last year.
