$300,000 Colt Sets New Benchmark for Better Than Ready

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 11

Lyndhurst Stud’s Better Than Ready has more yearlings in Book 1 at Magic Millions than ever before and made his presence felt on Tuesday with a colt from Freezethemillions selling for $300,000 to Annabel Neasham/ Brian McGuire.

New benchmark for Better Than Ready with this $300,000 colt bought by Annabel Neasham.

Consigned by Yarramalong Park, the colt is bred to go early being a full brother to $700,000 plus earning Group III winner Alpine Edge, who was second in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

The colt is now the most expensive yearling sired by Better Than Ready, who is the leading sire of two year-old winners in the country with  six to his credit.

Better Than Ready also posted a new stakes-winner at Doomben recently when Tiger Heart took out the Group III BRC Vo Rogue Stakes, so for fans of Better Than Ready the 2022 Magic Millions Yearling Sale is a garden of opportunity with 40 of his yearlings catalogued.

A Group II winning son of More Than Ready (USA), Lyndhurst Stud’s Better Than Ready started his stud career at a fee of $9,900 and remained at that price for his first four seasons before burgeoning success saw him priced up to $33,000.

The first yearlings conceived at the higher fee are being offered this week.
