First Season Sire Averages

There has been tremendous interest in these first season sires with three heavy hitters in Trapeze Artist (Widden), The Autumn Sun (Arrowfield) and Justify (USA) (Coolmore), who were the most expensive sires going to stud in 2019 by quite a margin.

Justify has had 100% clearance at this sale.

The Book 1 sale is now complete for Justify, who has only one more yearling to be offered at the Gold Coast and it comes up in Book 2 so his figures will remain as they are in this table.

The lure of the Ferrari for his first Group I winner of one of a list of selected events has done it’s work as he has had 100% clearance at this sale and holds the top of the list for single best result for a first season sire with his filly from dual Group I winner Global Glamour selling for $900,000 to Gai Waterhouse/ Adrian Bott / Kestrel Thoroughreds.

The Autumn Sun and Trapeze Artist have horses selling tonight so stay tuned for a final in depth look at all of these sires on Sunday.
