Australia’s Most Expensive Sires of 2021 – Covering Stats

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday March 1

Australian Studbook have today released official covering statistics for the 2021 breeding season and it’s always interesting to see what the market made of the most expensive sires in the land.

I Am Invincible was a popular choice for elite breeders.

Yarraman Park’s I Am Invincible is at the height of his powers both commercially in the sale ring and on the track with Group I winners on the past two Saturdays propelling him to the top of the Australian General Sires List by earnings.

He covered 193 mares last spring at a fee of $220,000 and is still very much the go to horse for many of our elite breeders.

Wootton Bassett (IRE) was an interesting addition to the Coolmore roster coming in as a tried and proven Group I sire in Europe that is being given every opportunity for superstardom by Coolmore back in Ireland where has covered many of their best mares.

Local breeders were obviously keen to give him his chance here with a top class book of 188 mares giving him no excuses and ensuring every opportunity for success.
