Third Winner for Sebring Sun

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday May 10

Astute trainer Bjorn Baker is not averse to travelling his juveniles out of town to break the ice and he got the cash at Mudgee on Sunday with the hot favourite Acapella Sun, the third winner for her young sire Sebring Sun.

Fifth and second at her two previous runs, she had race fitness and experience on her side and scored a dominant three length win in the 1100m dash beating I am Invincible filly Covalent.

Acappella Sun is raced by the same syndicate that owned and raced Sebring Sun himself, so they were delighted with the win,” said Craig Ruttley, who stands Sebring Sun at Glenthorne Park.

Sebring Sun

A stakes-winning and Group I placed son of much missed sire Sebring, Sebring Sun has had three winners from six runners out of his first small crop of 19 foals, who are two year-olds.

Acappella Sun is the first winner for In Unison, a winning Encosta de Lago mare from the family of Group I winners Vouvray, A Touch of Ruby and Loire.

In Unison has been a regular partner for Sebring Sun and has a yearling filly and weanling colt by the promising young sire to follow.

Sebring Sun stands at a fee of $3,300.
