First Admire Mars Foals Average A$810,000 in Japan

Arrowfield Stud shuttler Admire Mars (Jpn) had just four entries in Tuesday’s record-setting JRHA Foal Sale, all offered by Northern Farm, and all four sold for an average price of ¥75 million  (~A$810,000) – 30% above the Sale average.

Top price of ¥145 million (~A$1.5 million) was paid by billionaire media entrepreneur Susumu Fujita for Lot 429, the colt out of Irish Group 3 winner Treasuring (by Teofilo’s son Havana Gold).

Victory Circle signed for Lot 305, the ¥68 million (~A$736,000) half-brother to Japanese Group winner Bell Lap, from Bell Sleeve (by Symboli Kris S.), descended from US Grade 1 winner My Darling One. This is also the family of Oakleigh Plate G1 winner Shamal Wind.

Lot 467, the daughter of La Terrasse (by Harlan’s Holiday), from the family of US Grade 1 winner Without Feathers, was purchased for ¥49 million (~$530,000) by Miyazaki Toshiya. 

Hideko Kondo’s bid of ¥38 million (~$411,000) secured Lot 406, the Admire Mars filly from French Group 3 winner Tamniah (by Nathaniel), a relative of  US G1 winner Red Rocks and a descendant of Irish Group 1 winner Pharaoh’s Delight.

Arrowfield Stud based Japanese bred sires are making their mark in no uncertain terms. As the 2021/22 season comes to a close, Maurice heads Australia’s 2nd Season Sires’ Premiership and Real Impact is fifth on the 3rd Season Sires’ list.

Admire Mars

A three-time Group 1 winner at two and three, Admire Mars is ready to add his own chapter to the growing story of Japanese breeding success at Arrowfield. 

Admire Mars stands his second Australian season  at a fee of $22,000 this spring and his first Australian foals are due in early August.
