Another Trial Winner for Performer

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 23

Astute trainer Les Ross provided all of the runners in two heats for two year-olds at the Sunshine Coast trials on Tuesday morning and produced another trial winner for Aquis Farm’s young sire Performer.

Ross saddled a trial winner for Performer earlier this month in Mishani Star and had a similar result with Mishani Cruise, who did everything right and surged home under a hold to win his heat by a neck.

Les Ross had plenty of early success last season with the progeny of another young Aquis sire in The Mission and will no doubt be hoping for similar success with the progeny of Performer, who was a fast precocious juvenile that won the Listed ATC Breeders Plate on debut and later the Group III ATC Canonbury Stakes.

By champion sire Exceed and Excel, Performer covered over 100 mares in his first season including Mishani Cruise’s dam Mishani Radiance, an unraced three-quarter sister-in-blood to stakes-winner Illuminates.

Performer stands at a fee of $6,600.
