Two Winners in Two Days for Super Easy

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 4

Hallmark Stud Sire Super Easy has made a great start to the Spring racing term with two winners in as many days recorded in Australia.

The Richard Laming-trained Easy Beast (Super Easy ex Shanpanichi) left his rivals with windburn when he scored by 6-lengths at Echuca, the win coming at his first start as a three-year-old, and followed three placings recorded last season.

Super EasyBred by Rich Hill Thoroughbreds, Easy Beast was a NZ$55,000 purchase at the 2016 Karaka Premier Sale.

Super Easy filly Lisdoonvarna (ex Axislass) sealed the winning double and a 66.6% winners-to-runners ratio in Australia for her sire with a 1.5-length at Nowra for trainers Amanda Turner & Mauro Poletti on Tuesday. Formerly prepared by Donna Logan in New Zealand, the now three-year-old cleared maidens at her Australian debut.

"It is very exciting to see Super Easy really starting to make his mark as a sire," said Mark Baker of Hallmark Stud.

"He has had solid success with race winners in New Zealand and Australia, and trial winners in Singapore as well, which is where of course he was a Champion Racehorse and crowned Horse of the Year."

Super Easy, a second season sire, is well represented in New Zealand by the multiple stakes-winning filly Prom Queen. Prom Queen has won seven of her eight raceday outings and is on target to race in the Group One Thousand Guineas at Riccarton in November.
