Juvenile Trial Watch – Gosford

Tara Madgwick - Monday November 21

Arrowfield Stud’s young gun sire The Autumn Sun has yet to have a runner, but a handsome chestnut colt in the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable looks ready to step out on race day.

Lining up for his second trial this preparation at Gosford on Monday morning, Deciduous was asked to get out and run by Tim Clark and sat outside the leader before being shaken up to go past.

He accelerated to the lead and then won eased down to score by half a length showing good improvement from his first trial to his second and clocking 47.36 seconds for his 800m heat which was the fastest of all heats at that trip.

Deciduous was a $475,000 Magic Millions purchase for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds from the Arrowfield Stud draft and is the first foal of Japanese blueblood mare Bollywood (Jpn), a placed three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group III winner Fairy Polka and half-sister to stakes-winners Oken Believe and Ice Doll.

Deciduous was bred and sold by Arrowfield.

Bollywood has a yearling filly to follow also by The Autumn Sun that is entered for Magic Millions as Lot 673 and produced a filly this spring by Snitzel.

The Autumn Sun has 17 entries for Magic Millions 2023.
