One to Watch – Canterbury

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 17

The Star Thoroughbreds colours were carried to victory at Canterbury on Friday night by a very impressive first starter by champion sire I Am Invincible.

Champion trainer Chris Waller has prepared a couple of multi-million dollar winning mares by I Am Invincible for Star in Invincibella and Fiesta with promising Demiana taking the first step to emulating their success with an exciting debut win.

Three year-old Demiana has had a good education at the trials this year and took that experience to race day producing a brilliant change of gear for Jason Collett at the 200m mark.

Demiana chimed into the race and forged clear to win the 1250m maiden by nearly two lengths

A $320,000 Magic Millions purchase for Star Thoroughbreds/Randwick Bloodstock Agency P/L (FBAA), Demiana was bred and sold by Musk Creek Farm and is the first winner for Deipara, a placed half-sister by Lonhro to stakes-winner Maternal from four time Group I winner Divine Madonna.

Demiana was a $320,000 Magic Millions purchase.

Musk Creek Farm will offer a Snitzel filly from Deipara at Inglis Premier as Lot 368.
