Affordable Quality and QTIS Eligibility Make Magic for Raheen

The Nolan family owned and run Raheen Stud is one of the most successful Queensland nurseries and their quality draft for Magic Millions features a mix of the proven and promising.

Set to fly the flag for Raheen Stud in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic on Saturday week is fleet footed filly Miss Coota, who was snapped up from their draft last year for $140,000 by Gerald O'Toole/Arthur Hoyeau.

Bred and sold by Raheen Stud, Miss Coota is set to run in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

The Spirit of Boom filly has proven a natural runner in the care of Chris Munce scoring wide margin wins at her first two starts in October, before finishing fifth in the Group III BRC BJ McLachlan Stakes (1200m) behind undefeated colt The Novelist.

Connections believe the filly can bounce back in the big one after her last start when she was controversially ridden off the pace by Craig Williams, who will not be aboard her next Saturday with her original rider Justin Huxtable most likely to take the ride.

Win, lose or draw, Miss Coota has already banked over $165,000, recouping her purchase price with the promise of more to come and her success has put the spotlight on her half-brother by Nicconi from Rock Garden that will be offered by Raheen Stud as Lot 302.

Lot 302

He is the third foal of a placed Fastnet Rock daughter of imported North American stakes-winner Pardon (USA).

Raheen Stud’s young Fastnet Rock stallion Heroic Valour is proving a reliable source of winners with 11 on his tally this season and is running equal fifth on the overall second crop sires list by winners with eight yearlings catalogued for the Gold Coast in Book 2.
