Mosheen's Daughter Carpentaria Triumphs at Tokyo

Mark Smith - Sunday February 5

Mosheen’s lightly raced daughter Carpentaria made a successful 2023 debut in a 1600m allowance at Tokyo on Saturday.

Making her first start since disappointing at Niigata last September, the 4yo daughter of Lord Kanaloa finished strongly under Christophe Lemaire to defeat Ho O Premier(Lord Kanaloa) by a neck with Une Etoile (Spielberg) a further two lengths back in third.

Trained by Tetsuya Kimura for Silk Racing, Carpentaria finished third in an 1800m Newcomers race at Tokyo in her only start at two.

She broke her maiden over 1600m on the same track in June last year but was put away for the season after failing at Niigata.

Four-time Group 1 winner Mosheen (Fastnet Rock) has a 2yo colt by Maurice (JPN) and a yearling colt by Epiphaneia (JPN). She was covered by Maurice (JPN) last year.
